About Dr Sumit Mrig

Among the youngest cochlear implant surgeons in India and Asia, Dr. Sumit Mrig has successfully performed more than 700 cochlear implant surgeries. He has treated patients from eight different countries and was the first Indian surgeon to start an independent cochlear implant programme in Africa. As a mentor surgeon, he has helped over 14 centers across India establish their own cochlear implant programmes. His excellence has been recognised with several awards, including the Susruta Award (2019), MAX CEOâ€™s Award (2018), VALYOU Award (2017) and Vishisht Chikitsa Ratan by IMA Dwarka (2025).
