About Dr Deepak P. Patkar

Dr. Deepak P. Patkar is a senior consultant radiologist with over three decades of clinical, academic and leadership experience. As Director – Medical Services & Head of Imaging at Nanavati Max, he is recognised for his expertise in neuroradiology, advanced MRI techniques and teleradiology. He has a long record of teaching, organising major national imaging courses and leading imaging programs that serve both clinical and academic communities.

Education & Advanced Training:

  • Visiting Fellow at Guy’s Hospital, London (1989) with exposure to neuroradiology, MRI, CT, mammography and Doppler.
  • Short visiting fellowship at UCSF, San Francisco (1993) in advanced neuroradiology and musculoskeletal imaging.
  • MR Spectroscopy training, Pasadena, California (2000).
  • Peripheral MR Angiography training, Cornell University, New York (2000).
  • Cardiac MRI workshop, Bangkok (2003).
  • Attended RSNA meetings in 1993, 2004, 2005, 2008, 2009 and 2011.

Professional Experience:

  • Director – Medical Services & Head – Imaging, Nanavati Max Super Speciality Hospital, Mumbai.
  • Nearly three decades of extensive radiology experience in both the UK and India.
  • Director of Telediagnosys Services Pvt. Ltd., providing teleradiology services to the US, Africa and the Middle East.
  • Organiser and faculty for the Nanavati Max MRI Teaching Course (since 2001).
  • Organising Secretary for the 60th Annual Conference of IRIA, Mumbai (2007).
  • Has organised multiple conferences and academic events for IRIA and MSRA.

  • Past Chairman / senior office-bearer of the Indian College of Radiology & Imaging (ICRI) and IRIA (Maharashtra Chapter).
